The width of the weir not only affects the amount of water which can flow across the weir, but also the amount of [[grid cell]]s on either side of the weir which allow water to flow through to the other side. The greater the weir's width, the more cells are considered to be part of the entry- and exitside of the weir.

Notes

Relation between Weir width, Weir height, Weir dam multiplier and elevation adjustments.
  • Weir width affects both the volume of water flowing across the weir and the number of grid cells on either side that permit this flow. The greater the weir's width, the more cells are considered to be part of the entry- and exitside of the weir.
  • The number of cells on the entry and exit sides depends on the WEIR_WIDTH attribute, limited by a maximum of 25m.
  • The Weir dam multiplier attribute of a Water Overlay controls to what width and height the weir is raised to block the natural flow of water in a waterway.
