For the purposes of relating a simulation to real-world events, a start date can be configured. This means the start of any time sequence and the start of the simulation displays a specific date and time. As the simulation progresses, the displayed date and time are furthered with the amount of time passed in the simulation.

Notes

  • The start of the simulation is for display purposes only. It does not affect the calculation itself, nor the interpretation of any time sequences.
  • This Attribute is configured automatically when loading in a rain sequence with times formatted as datetimes.
  • Time sequences such as RAIN_M are always interpreted as starting from 0 seconds, regardless of the configured START_DATE_MS.
  • Technically, the default year is 1970. However, the year is not displayed.
