Prerequisites

The following prerequisites should be met before starting this tutorial:

  • This tutorial will take approximately ~20 minutes.
  • This tutorial relies on base knowledge about the editor interface. If you have not yet followed the tutorials related to those subjects please do so first.
  • This tutorial can be followed with any project with write access but is designed in the Demo Dxf Import project.

Preparations

Take the following steps as preparation for following this tutorial:

Save as

In the case the project Demo Dxf Import is used, as suggested above, for this tutorial it is required to save the project to your domain.

  1. First open this project in the editor.
  2. Next, select File in the ribbon and select the option Save as.
  3. Provide a new name and save this project to your domain.

This grants write access for the project, which is currently required for adding Excel Sheets to your project. These to store calculation logic of Indicators.

Introduction AI Agents

In the Editor you can interact with several predefined AI Agents using the Chat panel. In this tutorial we will use the Project Agent to implement a default Heat Stress Indicator. Once created it can be further tweaked and styled using additional instructions. Note that with AI correct answers and implementations are not guaranteed!

Project Agent

To start creating an indicator with the Project Agent, we will have to open the Chat panel with the Chat Channel of this AI Agent. Select Community in the ribbon bar, hover over Chats and select Project Agent. This opens the Chat panel with the selected agent.

Create a Heat Stress Indicator

In this example, we can simply instruct the agent with the following text

Add a heat stress indicator

Click on the "Send" button to send this instruction to the agent.

Providing an instruction to the Project Coder

Wait for it to finish. You can currently only send one message at a time.

Once finished, inspect the result by clicking on the indicator in the top bar. It will probably look like the image below:

Show Thinking

As implementing an indicator is a complex task, thinking is involved. The Project Agent has think mode by default enabled. You can inspect the thinking of the agent by selecting the Show thinking option in the top bar of the Chat Panel.

Clicking on the Show Thinking checkbox to show the thinking part of Chat Messages related to the Chat Channel.

Adjusting the table

It is possible to style the table with the Agent. Ask any of the following questions:

Format score:

Always display the score with 1 decimal and put the percentage sign in the title of the column.

Align the score column:

Align the text in the score column to the right

Remove the border colors:

Remove the borders in the table.

Horizontal header and footer:

Add a horizontal line below the title row of the table and above the score row.

Change the color of the lines:

Change the color of the lines to rgb(94, 255, 255)

Tip: In case the Agent made a change that you are not content with, let it know in the next message.

Adjustable Target

We can also ask the Agent to make the target adjustable per Neighborhood.

Make the target of the indicator adjustable per Neighborhood

Next, we can ask the Agent to change the target of certain Neighborhoods:

Change the target of Campenhoef neighborhoods to 38.4 and change the target of Buitengebied neighborhoods to 34.7

Final Result

If you completed all steps, you might end up with the following result:

Skills

Show Skills in the Chats popup under Community.

The reason why the Project Agent can implement a Heat Stress Indicator with a certain layout without asking questions about it, is due to the presence of skills in the project. One skill files contain instructions on how to create a specific heat stress indicator. This skill file references the more general indicator-excel-sheet skill that contains instructions for creating an excel sheet for an indicator.

To access skills, select Community in the ribbon bar, hover over Chats and select Show Skills

Tutorial completed

Congratulations. You have now completed this tutorial. In it, you have learned how to use the Project Agent to create an Indicator using skills..
