Prerequisites

The following prerequisites should be met before starting this tutorial:

  • This tutorial will take approximately ~30 minutes.
  • This tutorial relies on base knowledge about the editor interface. If you have not yet followed the tutorials related to those subjects please do so first.
  • This tutorial can be followed with any project with write access but is designed in the Demo Dxf Import project.

Preparations

Take the following steps as preparation for following this tutorial:

  • Start the Demo Dxf Import project.

Save as

In the case the project Demo Dxf Import is used, as suggested above, for this tutorial it is required to save the project to your domain. First open this project in the editor. Once opened, select File in the ribbon and select the option Save as. Provide a new name and save this project to your domain. This grants write access for the project, which is currently required for adding Excel Files to your project. These excel files are used to store calculation logic of Indicators.

Introduction AI Agents

In the Editor you can interact with several predefined AI Agents via Chat Channels. In this tutorial we will use the Project Coder agent to implement a default Heat Stress Indicator. Once designed it can be further tweaked using additional instructions. Note that with AI correct answers and implementations are not guaranteed!

Project Code

To start creating an indicator with the Project Coder, we will have to open the Chat Channel of this AI Agent. Select Community in the ribbon bar, hover over Chats and select Project Coder. This opens the Chat Panel with the selected agent.

Editor → Community (Ribbon tab) → Chats (Ribbon bar) → Project Codert (Dropdown)
Location of Chats in the Community tab in the ribbon of the Editor.

Create a Heat Stress Indicator

In this example, we can simply instruct the agent with the following text

Add a heat stress indicator

Click on the "Send" button to send this instruction to the agent.

Show Thinking

As implementing an indicator is a complex task, thinking is involved. The Project Coder has think mode by default enabled. You can inspect the thinking of the agent by selecting the Show thinking option in the top bar of the Chat Panel.

Skills

The reason why the Project Coder can implement a Heat Stress Indicator with a certain layout without asking questions about it, is due to the presence of skills in the project. One skill files contain instructions on how to create a specific heat stress indicator. This skill file references the more general indicator-excel-sheet skill that contains instructions for creating an excel sheet for an indicator.

To access skills, select Community in the ribbon bar, hover over Chats and select Show Skills Selecting Show skills in the Chats popup

Tutorial completed

Congratulations. You have now completed this tutorial. In it, you have learned how to use the Project Coder agent to create an Indicator using skills..
