The vegetation fraction is an attribute used by the [[Heat Stress Overlay]], and indicates the amount of vegetation per square meter. The vegetation fraction can be determined based on the presence of multiple types of data:
The vegetation fraction is currently obtained as an attribute:
* If a [[building]] is present with a [[Building vegetation fraction (Heat Stress Overlay)|vegetation fraction]] function value, this value is used.
* [[Function|Functions]]: GREEN_M2 function value, which represents the same thing
* Otherwise, the present [[terrain]]'s [[Terrain vegetation fraction (Heat Stress Overlay)|VEGETATION_FRACTION]] attribute is used.
* [[Terrain|Terrains]]: VEGETATION_FRACTION terrain attribute
 
The vegetation factor cannot be overwritten by [[Area]]s.
