Urban Heat Island result type overlay (Wageningen)

An urban heat island is an area which is warmer than surrounding areas due to human activity, specifically urbanized environments which retain and radiate heat.

Notes

  • The calculated values which compose the urban heat island are not directly the actual temperature for a given location. Instead, they are an intermediate factor in the calculation of the physiological equivalent temperature.
