Main menu of the Tygron Engine web application

In the Tygron Engine web application, the main menu is the first screen after the log in panel and End Users License Agreement (EULA). On this main menu the top level of basic choices can be made by the user in the Tygron Engine web application, depending on the user's level of access rights.

Elements of the Tygron Engine main menu

The main menu of the Tygron Engine web application consists of multiple basic elements for each user, independent of the user access level.

Left menu bar

The left menu bar is the vertical area on the left side of the screen. The left menu bar contains all options that are available for the user's access level. The higher the access level, the more sub menus will be displayed here. Sub menus are: Single Player, Multiplayer, Editor and Options.

Headlines panel

On the lower half of the screen, near the middle, is a large white field, called the Headlines panel. On this panel major news updates are shared with the users. These can refer to anything Tygron related.

Updates panel

Located on the lower half of the screen, on the right, is the Updates panel. On this panel small notifications are posted, usually of a more technical nature, such as when the server was rebooted for the last time.

Version and server information

Near the bottom of the screen, under the Headlines panel, a string of text informs the user which build is currently in use on which server. This can be useful when a new build is anticipated, or when an issue (bug) needs to be reported.

Session invite message

Not an integral part of the main menu, but important and available on all access levels in the main menu; the session invite message. This message is displayed whenever a client is invited to join a game session by the host/ game facilitator. Accepting this invite will automatically assign the client to a team, and the game will load.

Sub menus of the main menu

On the left side of the screen, in the left menu bar, depending on the access level, multiple sub menus are accessible.

Single player

The single player section is for selecting a game in single play mode; a play mode for one player.

Demo

Demo mode allows the user in Single play mode to switch between stakeholders and levels. This is convenient when demonstrating a game with multiple stakeholders and levels, because the user does not have to reload the game each time when the stakeholders or levels need to be switched.

Single

Single play mode is the classical one person play mode. In case other stakeholders are implemented in game, a basic artificial intelligence (AI) will play as the other stakeholders. It is not possible to quickly skip levels in this mode; levels need to be played out as intended.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer mode is for playing a game with multiple users. In this section all the available choices are for setting up, joining and playing a multiplayer session.

Host

Selecting "Host" will lead the user to the Admin Interface, with which the user can set up and manage a multiplayer session with multiple clients connected.

Join

With "Join" the user can actively join a session hosted by someone else, by selecting this session from a list of available session.

Beamer

The "Beamer" selection allows the user to use the system as dedicated beamer controller. By connecting a beamer to this system, the group of the session can easily be given game relevant information. The Beamer application is managed from within the Admin Interface.

Editor

The Editor section contains all the selections to start or join an existing editor session.

Start Editor

By selecting "Start Editor" the user will load the wizard, enabling him to create a new game from scratch.

Join

"Join" allows the user to join an already running editor session. This enables two or more users editing the same game at the same time.

Options

The "Options" section contains a miscellaneous collection of actions that do not fit in the other groups.

Options

Depending on access level, more or less actions will be available in this sub menu.
  • Test my hardware: This selection starts the hardware benchmark test
  • Active sessions: This selection opens a new panel with all active sessions displayed. Only available on multiplayer access levels.
  • Legal Notices: This section displays all legal texts related to the used third party software and services.
  • User Management: This section deals with account management within a user group. Only available on group management access levels.
  • Manage Projects: This section is for managing projects in a user group. Here projects can be deleted, or shared with different groups. Only available on group management access levels.
  • My Group: This section displays a session log from the user group, and allows the license to be upgraded by the user. Only available on group management access levels.
  • Help: This selection leads to the online support area of Tygron. Please note that this selection will redirect the user to an online location outside of the Tygron Web Application.

Logout

The Logout button allows a user to log out of the application. This option will also remove the check mark from the "Keep me logged in" check box from the log in panel.
