The total subsidence for year y is calculated as:
where
- is the peat fraction of the respective grid cell c.
- is the top layer thickness of the respective grid cell c.
- is the maximum possible subsidence in year y.
- Failed to parse (MathML with SVG or PNG fallback (recommended for modern browsers and accessibility tools): Invalid response ("Math extension cannot connect to Restbase.") from server "https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/":): {\displaystyle S_y} is the total subsidence in year y
