Area-based Buildings are Buildings for which their geometry is interpreted as a polygon, with their effects applied across their entire surface area.

Examples of area-based buildings are the following hydraulic structures:

Icon Name Description
Drainage Expedited and conditional flow from the underground to a surface waterway.
Inlet Conditional flow from external area to inlet location. (If INLET_AREA is configured appropriately).

The functioning of the building is applied on each grid cell which intersects with the building's polygon. Every such cell is treated as being entirely part of the building's function.
