Water Overlay

  • Shorelines: When a Waterway polygon is not correctly positioned in relation to the DEM this can result in filling up the nearby land with water at the start of the simulation. Although this is not much it will result in a lower water level then is to be expected from the water area value. To correct this we have added a "shoreline" at neighbouring cells. These shoreline cell will also be filled with water from the start, thus preventing the flush. This option can be turned on/off using the SHORELINE attribute.
  • Object Grid Alignment: Objects (culverts, pumps, weirs) are sometimes to small for the grid. For example a 1,8m culvert may fit into a single 2m gridcell and thus not connecting two cells. The rasterizer has been adjusted to accommodate for these issues and always tries to connect two grid cells by extended the object. This process is done "on the fly" during calculation (it depends on a variable grid cell size), therefor it does not adjust the original object polygon.
  • Object Correction: Objects (culverts, pumps, weirs) sometimes overlap each other and then one object becomes inactive. When this happens the rasterizer automatically moves the object start/end point by a maximum of one cell so both object are connected. This option can be turned on/off using the OBJECT_CORRECTION attribute.
  • Walls: The simulation model corrects for very steep angles in the DEM, steep angles can lead to mathematically correct super velocities (approaching infinity) which are not realistic in the natural world. To correct for this when used a wall mechanism that required a WALL_ANGLE attribute to function. Although this works perfect it depends on the variable to be set correct. We have adjusted the algorithm to handle this internally and therefore the WALL_ANGLE attribute is no longer required.
  • Finally the Quad Cell has become the default and therefore the QUAD_CELL attribute is no longer required.


  • Incompatible export CRS's are ignored.

Large Maps

  • Upgrade for Server Internet connection (faster up/download speed).
  • Improved feedback percentage of GPU progress.
  • Calculation jobs that are 75% finished will not receive a timeout anymore.
  • Project cache data is cleared when project is inactive.


  • Additional error feedback when uploading invalid GeoTiffs.
  • Sending geo data (e.g. buildings) now provides better feedback on progress and potential errors.
  • Fixed a bug where I3S services were not accepted when they contained special characters such as é.

Version 2020.2.2

Version 2020.2.2 was released on (Preview) on Monday November 18th 2019


  • First basic WFS support for buildings, neighborhoods, etc. (BETA) via export the Geo Data panel.


  • Reduced memory load during rasterization, this increases the server capacity (more sessions).
  • Inactive sessions also clear cached-data to reduce memory usage.
  • Fair Usage Limit: when the server is almost at full capacity each domain cannot start new sessions when it already has 2+ sessions.

GeoTiff DEM

  • Improved loading speed and feedback for adjusting the DEM with GeoTiffs.
  • Support adjusting the DEM with multiple GeoTiffs.
  • Fix bug where client might crash after large DEM updates.


  • Fixed API event for Zoning.

Version 2020.3.0

Version 2020.3.0 is released on (Preview) on Friday December 6th 2019


  • WFS support has improved and it is also possible to use filters, e.g. only buildings of category road.
  • WFS support now also incudes editing network lines and loads.
  • WFS now supports inserting new features (e.g. buildings, neighbourhoods, areas, etc)
  • Attributes of WFS features can be edited and saved directly into the Tygron Project.
  • WFS editing is supported by QGIS, we are still investigating if this is also possible for ArcGIS.


  • New query clause GRID_WITH_ATTRIBUTE, this allows users to define an overlay based on a specific attribute instead of the ID.


  • The SSL certificate has been updated.
  • The data-structure for Grid overlays has been changed, this makes it possible to support 2 billion+ grids in the future.

GEO Integration

  • Editor Selection Draw-mode now supports drag-and-dropped geojson files as a blue print for the selection. Furthermore, a selection specific Geo-wizard can also be used to select a blue print for other sources.
  • Map selection in new-map wizard now also support drag-and-dropped geojson files for automatically selecting a project area location.


  • Including the surface water in the GROUND_WATERTABLE Overlay has now become optional.


  • Text panels can now also be templated.
  • Text panel: $ATTRIBUTE_A to get the value of associated object (e.g. neighbourhood) attribute named A.

Public Beta

  • This is the first public beta release, accessible for all LTS Users to provide feedback.
  • It includes large new features: Heat-stress Overlay, Parametric Design, WFS and your own 3D models.
  • Furthermore multiple smaller fixes and Interface improvements (e.g. shortcuts).

Specific to this version compared to 2020.4 preview:


  • User now receives email when scheduled update has finished.
  • NO_DATA in GeoTiffs is better supported.


  • Improved import of networks.
  • Multiple fixes in selecting items in the Editor Interface.
  • Allow setting attributes on sub overlay.

3D Models

BAG Buildings

  • Housing buildings are no longer merged together.
  • BAG Buildings have a IDENTIFICATION attribute linking to the BAG id.
  • Improved Rooftop algorithm.
  • Fixed BBOX query issue where not all buildings are loaded from BAG.
  • Added fallback for the calculation of the amount of floors when the building's height is not (yet) present in the AHN data. This fallback will use the BAG address size.


  • Fixed coordinate inconsistency between API endpoint and WFS data.

User Interface

  • Moved Water Overlay detail settings to the Advanced Settings in the Water Overlay Wizard.
  • Added more options to the Edit attribute panel, similar to Remove attribute.
  • Improved search filters and added tips how to use search queries for Arcgis Catalogs.


  • Improved data streaming in several algorithms, resulting in better overall performance.

I3S SLPK / Scene layer

  • Support for the "Building Scene Layer" type, used by BIM models e.g. revit.
  • Support for "Visibility" flag in Building Scenelayer Sub Layers.
  • Improved loading time of I3S by multiple factors.
  • Support for Coloured I3S Geometries instead of Textured only.
  • Improved URL handling of online Scene Layers and additional feedback on errors.

  • Fixed an issue where the WFS service would not properly load in Arcmap.

  • Improved DTM loading in the Netherlands also AHN3 has become the new default setting.
