This is a general overview of the terms used when working with and referring to the Tygron Engine.

0-9

3D World
The central visualization of the area of a game.
3D Model
A representation of any three-dimensional object which could reside in the virtual world. Most 3D Models in the TyTech engine are both scalable and re-usable.

A

Action
An action is an activity a stakeholder can perform to achieve their objective.

B

Backup
A periodically and automatically archived version of a project which can be restored in case of data loss or server failure.

C

City Map
The vector based 3D world in which projects take place.
Client
A client is a computer program that, as part of its operation, relies on sending a request to another computer program, which may or may not be located on another computer. For example, web browsers are clients that connect to web servers and retrieve web pages for display. Email clients retrieve email from mail servers. Online chat uses a variety of clients, which vary depending on the chat protocol being used. Multiplayer video games or online video games may run as a client on each computer. The term "client" may also be applied to computers or devices that run the client software or users that use the client software.
Community
The Tygron Community is the group of people who participate in making, playing and/or facilitating projects hosted using the TyTech Engine.
Custom Shapefile
Privately owned GIS data which can be added to create the 3D World using the Shapefile format.

D

Domain
A Domain is a administrative group of users that share access to the same license. A domain typically is set up for a company, project or user group.

E

Editor
The editor is the system with which you are able to create your own games in the TyTech Engine.

F

Facilitator
The facilitator supervises the session process and structure while remaining content neutral and enabling the stakeholders.
Financial System
The Financial System is the system that allows the transfer of money between stakeholders in the virtual environment.
Forum
A platform administered by Tygron to get feedback or answers on specific questions.

H

Hotfix
Small update typically applied to the TyTech engine while maintaining server uptime.

I

Importance
The degree to which a stakeholder is concerned about a given theme.
Indicator
Indicators are the themes for which targets exist in the 3D World.

O

Ownership
Ownership of property within a virtual environment which can be negotiated over.

P

Project Session
A Project session is a session in which players take on the role of a stakeholder and, by playing the game, explore and discuss possible outcomes of a given topic.
Project Template
A specially marked project from which it's elements - Stakeholders, Indicators, Actions, etc - are transposed over to a new (virtual) location to create a similar game there.

R

Requirements
The necessary hardware and software necessary to use the TyTech Engine and Tygron Editor.
Roadmap
The R&D department of Tygron develops new technology for the TyTech Engine. The long term planning which shows the introduction of new features and versions is called the Roadmap.

S

Save
Storing the game contents on the server the way they are before starting a session. Or, when being facilitated, including the current state of the session.
Session
See Project Session
Simulation Module
An optional module for the TyTech engine providing the functionality of calculating/approximating a real-world process or system over time.
Single Player
Single Player refers to a particular game mode for computer and video games that is designed to be played by a single-player, without collaboration or competition with other human controlled players.
Stakeholder
A stakeholder is a person, group or organization that has interest or concern in a project or area.
Subsidies
Subsidies are a form of income where one party grants a sum of money to another party, often under special conditions.
Surrounding Map

T

Template
See Project Template
Test run
A quickstart to test whether the created project works and whether it achieves the desired goals fo the project in order to improve upon them.
Tilemap
The raster-based 3D World in which projects take place. This type of 3D world will be replaced by the City map.
Trail
A period in time in which a potential user can try the software and experience whether it meets the requirements for their usecase(s).
