A layer in the Tygron Platform is a conceptual subdivision in elevation.

Items that are assigned to a layer are:

Buildings: A Building's main Category determines the layer it belongs to.
Terrains: The Terrain Type of a terrain determines the layer it belongs to, either SURFACE or UNDERGROUND.
Special Action: Demolish (SURFACE)
Special Action: Demolish Underground (UNDERGROUND)
